Winter percussion consists of marching percussion (also called battery), front ensemble (also called pit) and may include a visual line and/or horn line depending on the show. Indoor percussion brings together elements of music performance and marching. These kids get creative, energetic and a whole lotta loud fun!
The Hudsonville Drum line rehearses from November to April 2-3 times a week and attends competitions in and around Michigan February - April
.
Membership is open to all Hudsonville students from 7th to 12th grade via tryouts held in Nov/Dec.
WGI World Finals are April 15-18 2026
MAPA State Championships are April 12 2026

Audition Materials:
We have a meeting for those interested in winter percussion on Nov 12, 7:00pm at the High School in the band room. Bring your questions!
We have a percussion clinic for students on both Nov 17, 6:00pm-9:00pm & Nov 19, 6:00pm-9:00pm at the High School in the band room.
Percussion auditions start the following week. Dec 1 & Dec 3 from 6pm-9pm. Followed by a final audition Saturday, Dec 6 from 10am-2:30pm.
